Hoveton Village Hall Cinema Club 2019

Some really fabulous movies in the schedule already, and it’s all in support of a charity dedicated to providing new and improved play equipment and other recreational facilities in Hoveton. If you have ideas for our Village Hall or think you can help the charity with fundraising, why not get involved? The Hoveton Village Hall Management Committee would be delighted to hear from you. For further details or to chat about what’s involved, please contact Cllr Jilly Gourlay (07818 214277 or [email protected]).

  • Granary Staithe Charity Day

Don’t forget to visit Granary Staithe on Sunday 16th June for our Charities Open Day. This fun, free event is a great opportunity to find out more about the work of local charities and community groups. Exhibitors due to attend include the Broads Society; the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust (who will be bringing a wherry into the Staithe’s dyke); Wroxham Bure Valley Rotary Club; and Hoveton Parish Council itself.

This event was sadly cancelled last year due to bad weather but, all being well, it should be taking place this year between 11am and 4pm. We hope to see you there!

  • Draft Local Plan Consultation Event

Just a reminder that a Draft Local Plan consultation drop-in is due to be held tomorrow (Thursday 23rd May), from 2.30pm to 7.30pm, at the Broadland Youth and Community Centre, Stalham Road, NR12 8DJ. The Local Plan will guide development in North Norfolk up to 2036 and this event will offer local residents the opportunity to discuss proposals outlined in the Draft Local Plan with district council planning officers. Members of your Parish Council will be attending this event too, so why not pop along to find out more?

For more information about the Draft Local Plan, or to submit your comments about the Plan to North Norfolk District Council, please visit www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/localplan.

Hoveton Parish Council is currently considering the content of the Draft Local Plan, and expects to agree its response to the consultation at its 3rd June meeting. Any residents who wish to share their views on the Draft Local Plan with the Parish Council are asked to please do so before that date. However, residents are asked to please note that Hoveton Parish Council is not a planning authority, and as such it can only offer its opinion on the Draft Local Plan; it does not make decisions regarding what will or will not be included in the Local Plan. Residents are therefore encouraged to submit their views on the First Draft Local Plan directly to North Norfolk District Council as part of the consultation process.
