  • A New-Look Broads Centre

Hoveton Parish Council was pleased to welcome a representative from Building Plans Ltd to its September meeting to provide members of the Council and local residents with an update on proposed improvements to The Broads Centre. The Broads Centre (Hoveton’s ‘shopping precinct’) may soon have a whole new look, with plans underway for new and improved hard and soft landscaping, including new surfaces, seating and planters.

As part of these plans, changes will be made to the area immediately outside the Hotel Wroxham, with the removal of parking spaces creating a pedestrian-friendly zone, and roofs, shop fronts and signage will eventually be updated. Meanwhile, Hoveton’s Granary Staithe, which provides a key entrance to The Broads Centre, has also been included in the ‘phase one’ development plans.

    Broads Centre Draft Plans

With kind permission of Building Plans Ltd, Hoveton Parish Council is pleased to be able to share a very early draft plan (above) of the works proposed. It is hoped this work will be completed before the 2019 tourist season begins, so watch this space for further updates.
