Local history buffs may be interested to see this photo from the Parish Council’s archives, which features a 1981 tree-planting ceremony at the junction of Stalham Road and Horning Road. Shown in the photograph are, from left to right: Joan Newey, Stuart Delf, Tessa Brewster (behind Stuart Delf), Don Peek, Sydney Kentish, John Short, John Walker, Lyn Farmer, William Weston, Betty Appleton, Ron Hutchison, and C.R. Chamberlain.

The tree-planting included the laying of a commemorative plaque bearing the names of former parish councillors Mr Delf, Mr Peek, Mr Walker and Mr Weston in recognition of their many years of service to the local community. Though the tree shown in this photo has since died, the commemorative plaque remains, and your Parish Council is discussing options for the relocation of this plaque with relatives of the councillors featured.
