• NNDC Local Plan – Extension to March 7th 2022

If you’re planning to respond to the consultation about the draft of the NNDC Local Plan, you should do it soon.  We’ve now had the following which gives more detail about how to respond.  At its meeting on Wednesday, the Parish Council agreed to respond, and to challenge the plan for Hoveton.

    ————————————————
    Dear Consultee,

Proposed Submission Version Local Plan – Consultation Extension

We are writing to inform you that the advertised deadline for responding to this consultation has been extended to midnight on Monday 7 March, 2022. If you have not yet had the opportunity to review the document and wish to comment on its soundness and/or legal compliance, please visit www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/localplanconsultation for further details.

    How to respond

Responses should be submitted through the Consultation Portal using the standard response form provided to clearly explain each issue you wish to raise and how the Local Plan could be modified to address that issue. The response form is based on Planning Inspectorate guidance and sets out specific questions that will be addressed by the independent inspector who will be appointed to consider if the Plan is sound and legally compliant. For this reason it is important that the format is followed and the questions answered as fully as possible. Please note that a separate response should be made for each issue that you may wish to make a representation on.

Guidance Notes have been prepared to support this consultation. We strongly advise that these are read prior to making representations.

For further information or assistance please contact the Planning Policy Team:

Thank you for taking the time to read the Proposed Submission Version Local Plan and/or to submit representations.

  • The Bridge – some sad news

Hoveton Parish Council was very sad indeed to learn of the recent death of Val Ovenden, the editor of The Bridge.  Some councillors had known Val for many years, and Councillor Alex Howe had been on the rota of typists for the parishes newsletter, The Bridge, for a long while, until technology finally encouraged contributors to submit their entries via email.  Val was a dear, gentle lady, valued by the villages of Hoveton and Wroxham alike.  After the death of her husband, Reg, in August 2018, Val continued in the editorship of The Bridge and remained working for the community.  She will be very much missed. HPC send sincere condolences to her family.

In the absence of the latest edition, the Parish Council’s article is here.
