Hoveton Needs Your Help

Did you know that despite their heavy workloads and an ever-increasing list of responsibilities, members of your Parish Council are all volunteers, who are not paid for the extensive work they undertake on behalf of the local community? In recent years, your Parish Council has received increased demand for its assistance and services from local residents, but sadly this demand hasn’t been accompanied by many volunteers willing to lend a hand and get involved, despite the Council’s repeated requests for help.

Only seven of Hoveton Parish Council’s twelve available seats are currently filled, which essentially means that seven volunteers are carrying out the work of twelve people. With demand for the Parish Council’s services increasing, it is vital that more local residents come forward to join the Parish Council and share the work involved in making our village a better place. In particular, your Parish Council is hoping that a resident of the Brook Park development may be willing to join the Council, to take forward outstanding matters relating to this development.

The role of a parish councillor is rewarding and fulfilling. It is an enjoyable way of contributing to your community and helping to make it a better place to live and work. Have you ever thought about becoming a parish councillor? Please do give the idea some thought. Get in touch with our Parish Clerk (07572 349600 or [email protected]) or with any member of Hoveton Parish Council if you would like to find out more about what’s involved, or please come along to our next meeting (Monday 7th October 2019).
