NCC Budget Consultation

Norfolk County Council’s 2019/20 budget consultation is currently inviting members of the public to have their say on some of the latest budget and council tax proposals made by Norfolk County Council (NCC). With the amount of money NCC receives from central government rapidly declining, these proposals include a plan to save £79 million over the next three years, while NCC is also identifying ways of bridging a remaining funding gap of £45.98 million.

Though a council tax increase has been proposed, Hoveton Parish Council has been advised that this won’t be enough to balance NCC’s budget, meaning NCC must continue to make difficult decisions over how funds are spent. The consultation closes on 23rd December 2018 and local residents can have their say at www.norfolk.gov.uk/budget. Copies of the consultation documents can be requested from [email protected] or 0344 800 8020.
